Although online dating is a very powerful and effective way to meet and date women, you’ll be literally "dead in the water" if your online dating profile is ineffective. Done incorrectly, your profile will cause women to ignore you, be driven away or not even notice you. It MUST stand out and trigger certain emotions in women that will begin the attraction cycle. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time and potential dates.
One of the most powerful parts in marketing and advertising is… the headline. The headline in any advertisement is the first thing that people will see and read. If it’s catchy and compelling, the reader will be more likely to continue reading the rest of the ad. If the headline is boring, people tend to skim over it and move onto the next ad. I guess most people are very busy these days and just don’t have the time to read everything.
The same is true with online dating profiles. You need to have a catchy and compelling headline for women to NOTICE you and feel COMPELLED to keep reading your profile. Before you start working on your headline, have a look at all the male profiles on your favorite online dating site. You’ll notice that there’s the same lame, boring, corny headline on most of the profiles. Women get sick of seeing the same old thing and they will INSTANTLY notice a headline that is different. Make yours different.
A big mistake that most men make in the body of the profile is to tell their whole life story. The best thing that you can do here is to keep it short and sweet. Doing it this way will create a bit of mystery and intrigue, which converts to interest from women. On the other side of the coin, if you tell your life story, there is no mystery, intrigue and interest. And women don’t have the time to sit there and read a very long profile. Keep it short, to the point and enticing.
I don’t have any hard research here, but it’s fairly well-known that most women will not even click on a profile if there is no photo. So you simply MUST have a photo. Make sure that the photo of you is recent, and portrays you as a happy, fun, energetic type of guy. Don’t use images that are dark or blurry, or with you wearing a hat and sunglasses… this will only look as though you have something to hide.
